Organic Cabbage

 
  • Description: Red cabbage has a strong, peppery flavor and tough leaves. Red cabbage is commonly used for coleslaws and salads, and is popularly used as an alternative to green cabbage to add color and presentation to salads and cooked dishes. Look for heads that feel heavy for their size (which can get pretty large), with tightly packed, moist looking leaves. Cabbage is an excellent source of vitamins A, C and K, as well as being rich in iron.

    Storage Tips: Keep cabbage in the refrigerator in a plastic bag, and be sure to not wash it until you are ready to use it.

    Shelf Life: Stored in the refrigerator, cabbage should last for about a week.
